I got someone to cover my shift tonight?
So I got someone to cover my shift tonight because im sick and they just texted me saying they cant cover it anymore... I haven't texted them back.. Am I responsible for finding another person or are they responsible because it's now technically there shift. My boss knows that they were going to work for me tonight.
So I was thinking I would just ignore anyone that calls from work and just act stupid the next day. I know thats not nice of me but I work 2 jobs and I don't want to work 13 hours today, when I feel so gross.

If the other person signed an agreement saying they would do it then it's not your problem to figure out, but if they didn't it probably would be best to call your boss and see if he/she can find someone else to take the shift and so that your boss knows that it's not your fault so you won't get in trouble. |

Your shift, your responsibility.!! But since they agreed, then backed out, both of you could be subject to disciplinary action. Don;t expect your boss to allow himself to be caught in the middle. |

I dont know your contract agreement but my staff are told that if they swap shifts they are still responcible for that shift, so if the person backs out they must come in and do the shift. If you are sick just call in sick instead of getting cover. |
