If you have the phone number of the place you applied, simply phone them asking to speak to the manager. Once the manager is on the phone just let him or her know that you applied such and such day and wanted to be re-assured that he or she received it. |

It's normally always better to give it to the manager or a supervisor. I'm not saying that employees will always throw it out but, most minimum wage jobs are cutting labor and people are scrapping for hours. So someone may just decide to not give it to the manager. Next time do your best to give it to a manager or supervisor. Don't worry if you do not get a call from this place because there are tons of others. You can't be turned down forever :) |

If i were you i would have came back another time, because when you hand in your application, you should make a good impression to the manager, i have done it muliple times and almost always got a phone call back |

I would say it was thrown out or tossed on the managers desk. I work at a staffing company and most resumes that get faxed or mailed in get tossed because our recruiters seek out the candidates or they answer calls. So my advice would be to try to get the managers email and email them or call them. Everyone is online these days!!! I think the old idea that "get the resume on paper in front of them" is over. |
