Am I at a serious disadvantage because I can't provide any references to potential employers? I worked at 2 places this year,one of them was a sales position but I quit after 2 months because it was only based on commission.Then I worked at a restaurant for 5 months and they fired me for a stupid reason.When I asked the restaurant managers if I could use them as a reference they said "sure" but they provided bad references to places I applied to.The last employer I interviewed with persistently declined telling me what my last employer said about me so I took that restaurant job completely out of my resume.I can't give my past employers as references because it has been more than a year so I assume they wouldn't really remember me.What should I do?
