I'm 17 and I applied at a ton of places and none even called.(that was a while ago) I am now retrying to apply to places and one was Delias at my local mall(they start hiring at 16 and said they were looking for people). I called them ehh let's say a week later and they said they were going to look over them soon. I still haven't heard back. should I call again? what should I say? What are other places I could apply to besides grocery stores?

Well, recession isnt completly over yet. So, be patience.

i know gettin a job is reallie imp for most of us, but dont forget that you're still livin with your parents & dont have to worry abt paying bills.

Meanwhile keep trying and apply to other places. Try to look job online too.

Yea just keep calling and just be like "yea im just calling in regards to the status of my job application". companies like it when individuals are persistent. so keep calling and it'll show them that you want to be there and you want the job. i just got a job myself haha

When I was your age, I didn't have alot of work experience, so what I did was get three letters of recommendation from teachers and counselors stating how responsible I was, trustworthy, polite, etc. I think that those letters of recommendation actually helped me get jobs because it made my application stand out from others. Also, since I didn't have too much experience, those letters vouched for my character and trustworthiness.

I wish you well.

You need to keep trying. You need to dress well. If a guy, put on a tie. You will never be turned down for over dressing, but you will be turned down for under dressing.

You also need to use manners. If you cannot show respect to the company, how can they expect you to show respect to the customers.

A job is a privilege. The job is the property of the company and therefore can by choosy about the person they select.

If you are going for a job as cashier, you need to know how to make change, calculate percentage and such. It is your responsibility to know this going in. Learn it.

Good luck.

Hello,

Keep trying to call where you have applied, it certainly displays your interest in a position. Call and ask to talk to a manager. Then state who you are and why you called. Be proud of yourself, even on the phone, and the person on the other end will certainly feel the vibe.
