I'm pregnant and I just got a great job offer. Is that gonna be a problem for them?

I'm a new grad RN and right after I got hired in a hospital i found out that I'm pregnant. I start my job in August and I have to do some physical exams, they're gonna find out for sure that I'm pregnant. After I start I'm 30 days on probation, that means, they can fire me only because they don't like me. There were so many applicants, they can easily find another nurse in my place. Do you think I'll be all right?

If they have already hired you, there is nothing that they can do because you are pregnant. It is illegal to fire you as long as you can perform the duties for which you were hired. You might want to be proactive and sit down with HR and discuss this so it doesn't appear you were trying ot hide something when you interviewed. |

So - they hire you and only a few monthes in - whatever - you need maternity leave? I'd be pretty angry if you dropped that predictament on me and I was your employer... it's one thing if you've been working there and doing well etc... it's quite another to know on entry you already have a vacation scheduled - that to me is total BS |
