I'm an undergrad applying for a clinical care extender internship at a hospital. They want my GPA?

So I'm an undergrad pursing working in the medical field. I would LOVE to have this internship, but its very competitive. On the application they want to know my GPA. The hospital is not affiliated with my school, so why do they want to know? Does it show if I can handle this? Do you think they have access to my transcript to look it up??
I feel like I'm very compassionate and have a strong work ethic, but my GPA is not the best right now and I don't have any clinical experience. I hope this won't hinder my chances.

Good for them! Your GPA says a lot about your clinical expertise and your work ethic. Of course they have no way of verifying it. |
