I'm 27 and have no sense of direction. Is it too late to find a good career with a good company?

Things are not that bad as I am fit, healthy and reasonably well off but is it too late to find a good career with a good company? I have a BSc with Upper Second Class Honours and have been working for a major oil company since I graduated. I do not like my job but what else could I do? Have I left it too late?

My interests include gym going, reading about sport and rugby in particular, travel, high end maths, spreadsheets, literature, making a lot of money, good food, watching films and partying. i think I am inhibited slightly as can be quite shy but generally get on with most people once I know them.

Get a master's degree. Doesn't matter so much what subject, but if you can't decide, go for an MBA. You can do it part-time (while you still have a job) at the Open University... it's cheap... and most MBAs graduates start at about £50k and go up from there.

while you're waiting for all that to happen, look into part-buy/part-let (or owning property outright if you can afford it).

And a 2:1 is okay (depending on the university and subject) but if you can get a better grade for your Masters, it'd be a good thing. Just don't do any worse!

I'm sorry, but I don't have a lame website to refer you to.

I don't see anything in your interest about working hard to get ahead or doing research about how your interests can develop into career opportunities or furthering your education. Time to put on your big boy skivvies, stop dreaming and start doing. You can do most anything you really want to do if you are willing to work your butt off, stay focused and be willing to sacrifice for the cause. You don't say anything about a wife and kiddies so what is stopping you from choosing a dream and going after it. If you stay in your safety zone you will never accomplish much. Luck!

Well, its seems you're looking for a major change in your carrier.possible but not instantly.Do it gradually.Keep doing your job for some while and in your sparetime try to setup a parttime business or job in whatever field you like travel, sports, literature, gym.Try and develop a second income stream along with your job initially.
