I'm 17 years old, about to finish my A Levels, and i've never had a job; will i ever get one?

I'm 17 and i want to go to University in September when i finish my A Levels. I've never had a job, although trust me i have applied to places; my worry is that i'm actually unable to get one due to my qualifications and history, you know, since i haven't worked before and such. One of my Universities requires a booking fee, and i really think getting a part-time job to afford this would be vital. Aside from the whole University focus though, even if i don't go to one, i still need to get a job and this makes me wonder. I have been rejected from McDonalds TWICE, and KFC TWICE. When you can't get hired at places like this, what hope do you have anywhere else? I know people who got a job at McDonalds with sub-par GCSEs; i have decent GCSEs and AS levels and will have full A levels within a few months, so i don't get it. Why am i unable to get a job? Really don't understand.

It is the job market and your youth - things will change.

Remember, lots of the places you have mentioned above - the fast food outlets often hire people because they are friends of other people or relatives of other people who work their.

Go back and ask again - if you get rejected ask what it is that you do not have in your skill set so that you can work on it.

Remember, you should always ask (nicely) when you are rejected for a job why you did not get it.
