How/where to get a part time job without previous work experience and without a resume?

I'm 18 going on 19 years. I am currently in University and will be attending community college next year. I need a part time job. I refuse to become a janitor (I'm a germophobe) and fast food places are my last resort(besides Quiznos, Jamba Juice and Subway)

I have never worked before. In HS, I was in Basketball and Track after school. I volunteered in the 3-4 year old classroom at my grandparents church maybe three years ago, but I doubt the lady I helpd out would remember me(she was a volunteer as well and it was so long ago). I moved almost every year, so I am not close to any adults other than those in my family. In my Junior year of HS, I collected 4 different references. I'm sure they most likely don't remember me and the places I'm applying to want recent references. I mean, I could have changed a lot in three years.

I applied to maybe 4-5 places(Blockbuster-which even has a now hiring sign up-applied two nights ago, AMC theaters, Whole Foods Market - which required retail experience, Jamba Juice, and Coldstone) this last month and haven't heard anything back. In two, I used one of those 4 references. They do realize we need to start somewhere, correct? Why would I need job experience and all to clean up a movie theater or make a smoothie? It's so frustrating. I need to make money.

You could still make a resume without any previous work experience. Just include your skills (great team player, organized & efficient, computer knowledge, professional demeanor, etc.), extracurricular activities, career goals (of course, be sure to tailor the goals to whatever place you're applying at), & references. Do you have a teacher who you could list? Also, it wouldn't hurt to throw a friend or 2 on your personal references, as long as it's someone you trust to make you sound good, not screw up a potential job for you.

Also, I'm a big fan of cover letters. I think it's like the extra little mile, & it isn't hard at all to type up a generic template & then personalize it to every business you're sending resumes to. You should always do a teensy bit of research about the places you're applying to. Most company websites list their mission statement at the very least, & you can usually find a good number to reach someone higher up to check on your application the next week. In my opinion, calling a weekish after sending a resume to see that they've received it & what their thoughts were on it makes you look better. Just don't get all stalkerish about it. Call once & maybe leave your number, at the most.

Anyways, I'm sure something will turn up for you. Good luck! :)
