Just ignore any job offer asking you to pay money before getting the job. Read more advice and tips on how to avoid job scams at http://jobscamsexposed.blogspot.com

You will be glad you did.

Any job asking for money from you before you start is 99% of the time a scam.

Well, I have never had to pay money to get a job. If you are paying money, then it is probably a scam.

If they offer you a job without you applying for one. It is probably a scam.

If they offer you a job for which you are very unqualified, then it is likely a scam.

Rule 1: A legitimate job is money flowing to you, not from you.

For most jobs you should not pay if you are an employee of a company. They pay out money to hire you, pay you for training, and pay the HR people to process your paperwork. There are a few work at home jobs where you might need a headset or get a background check...but never pay for training, a manual or an application/processing fee. You can go to www.wahm.com/forum and get reliable information from the folders in there. You'll see me in the AmeriPlan folder.

If you are looking on the internet and do find what appears to be a job asking for money to start you might be looking at a home business. I have a home business with AmeriPlan that cost something to start...but ALL businesses will cost something to start. You have to pay for materials, a space to lease, utilities etc. If you work from home you are already paying that so your costs will be greatly reduced. If you are looking at starting a home business, the cost to start should be equal to what you get in return. Meaning to pay $500 to start a home business then you get 3 brochures and a fake leather briefcase in return...IMO not legit. But paying $10 to start and you get several websites to help you run your biz so you don't have to handle any money is certainly reasonable, especially if you get household benefits for that.

If you are looking to work at home you can visit my cafemom profile as I have written a couple journal posts that help you know what's a scam, is it ok to pay to work, steps to take to finding your perfect home business etc. My profile is at www.cafemom.com/home/ambitworks4u. HTH!
