How should I go about following up a job application?
Last thursday I submitted two applications to two separate stores at an outlet mall.
How should I go about following up on my applications?
I've read a lot about calling, but I don't know what number to call or how to find a number.
I suppose I could go in to the stores again? But who do I talk to? What do I say?
And when should I follow up on them? I was thinking tomorrow, is that too early?
I'm 19 and this is pretty much my first job.

I would most certainly go to follow up on those applications. Jobs are too tough to come by, and with the Summer out, it will get even tougher. I would show up in person and ask to speak to a manager. Tell them that you wanted to touch base with them and see how the process was going. Another thing you may want to do is get a couple of letters of reference and take them to supplement your part-time or full time job application. I would go, the sooner the better. Where can you get those letters of recommendation? Try your school, old teachers, college teachers, and anyone that will right one. The letters should explain why you are good candidate for that job or any job for that matter. |
