How should I fold my resume to put in an envelope?

I know some are going to say I should put it in a big one so I dont have to fold it but I just found out about this opening and I dont have time to get one. So a small envelope will have to do. But how should I fold it? Should I fold the top down and bottome up, or maybe the top back and bottom forward?

Fold it horizontally, in thirds. Fold it so that the top--the first thing the person who opens the envelope will see--is the printed side, with your name and contact info at the top.

With a resume, you must send a cover letter. The cover letter goes on top of the resume. Fold them together, same way. The part of the cover letter the person opening the envelope should see is the top, with their name and address, your name and address, and the greeting.

Fold it three times from top to bottom and put it in face up with the beginning showing.

It's not really going to matter a lot - employers won't really care. But the traditional way to fold something to put in an envelope is fold the bottom up, then the top down.

Take the time to get a proper envelope

a few hours will NOT make any difference at all.... the mail won't go out till tomorrow anyway and your letter will not be delivered to or opened at the business before Monday of next week..........

DO IT RIGHT not fast.........

the employment decision will not be based on who's resume was postmarked first but the presentation and appearance of each resume will be critical..........

1. No one cares, as long as it's neat, Before email,I used to fold 'em in thirds, along with the cover letter

2. As I said, "used to." It's the twenty-first century now. Use email like everyone else in business. It's faster, cheaper, and shows you have at least rudimentary computer skills. I've been a manager for many years and haven't received a resume via snail mail since 1995.

Speaking as both a job search author and expert, let me say that it really doesn't matter if you fold your resume or keep it unfolded by placing it in a larger envelope. What matters most of all to employers is being able to read it! So as long as your ink doesn't bleed, you'll be ok either way.
