How old is too old to work for a retail store?

I am 32 and applied at a Fan Clothing store at a high end shopping center. I think it's like H/M clothing that's trendy casual clothing. The ad says if you're a college student to ad a collage of outfits you'd wear to work at the store. Uh, I look young and know how to dress but I'm afraid that they just want young kids like 18 - 20. I'm in dyer need of a job and wonder if they will give me a chance? What do you think? Is 32 too old for this store?

Dude, in this economy you take whatever job you can get. I've seen people who are like 50 working at fast food restaurants, so I'd say your fine. They may even prefer that you are a little older because you have more experience. |

32 isn't too old. And there are certain laws on the books that protect against age discrimination. |

Im afraid it is too old. when you normally walk into a H/M or any other similar clothing store, you usually see people in thier late teens and twenties working as employees. its very rare to see 30yr olds working there, except as managers. even if you get the job, you may fell awkward since all the other employees are younger than you. |

Apply for the position and while you are at it, assist customers with some fashion tips as well. This can give you an upper hand with young students. You can never be too old or too young and never let the age discourage you. |

Try to get the job and just quickly move your way up to management. Let that be your selling point... |
