How long do Toys R Us background checks usually take?

Last Tuesday I got a call from the Toys R Us that I'd applied at saying that they were offering my the position and that they were going to do the background check so I should go out and make sure I have everything for my uniform ready for orientation. They said they'd call me back to let me know when orientation was. It has been a week now and no call, I know there is nothing that would come up in my background check so I was hoping someone could tell me how much longer this is going to take and what I should do. What could be the hold up?
A friend of mine told me when she got hired (at a completely different company) that it took them a week to give her a call.

When I was the HR Manager at a Toys R Us, I would see very different results. When I spoke with the company that does the checks they told me the turn-around time is normally around 48 hours but there are some counties that use such old programs and methods that you may have to wait more than a week. Name changes can also cause delays or if a county you lived in reports a misdemeanor or felony. If they do, it goes to Corporate and they decide if it would disqualify you from consideration. |
