How is Alaska and Hawaii pension plan different from contiguous 42 states?
I'm not necessarily talking about the pension plans for public/government employees. I see that there are "private" companies in Alaska that offer pensions with full benefits starting as early as 58 (they don't indicate there is a tenure requirement), and exemption from Social Security participation (which is good for someone of my age group as federal government can't be trusted to pay Social Security by the time I retire). Here in contiguous 48 states, as everyone knows, private pension plans have been replaced with 401K or other lame retirement plans that relies on how the Wall Street Big Guys play.

Except for the higher cost of living, it is the same with your 42 states and the other 6 as well. |
