How do you appeal a unemployment claim?

Here's my situation: I voluntarily quit my job because I was embarrassed to go back to work after a week of being ill. On my claim I stated that I could not work due to illness but I do not have a doctors note stating I was advised to resign. What should I do? Is there even a possibility that I can appeal this?

You can appeal, you will not win. You quit voluntarily because you were embarrased and you lied on your form, which you can't back up. You are not eligible for unemployment. If you have been denied benefits, there should be information in your denial letter on how to put in an appeal, but don't count on collecting, and really think about what you are doing -- defrauding the unemployment agency with false claims will end up with you having to pay everything you manage to collect back, and being barred from ever collecting unemployment again in the future.
