Businesses like people who work hard but they want them to show them rather then tell them. Answering that question with your suggested answers (which although show you are ambitious and are going to benefit the company if true) can come across as cocky and big headed in an interview, which is the last thing employers want. Try be ambitious from a different angle. For example maybe touch on the fact that in business you can always learn from more experience and that this job will provide that opportunity. This way you go from being negative about yourself to ambitious... without being cocky and big headed. Good luck

In all honesty, if you can't answer that on your own, maybe being an office manager is not right for you.

Both your answers sound self-serving. Instead you could say that sometimes you take on more than you should.

Always go with something that can be portrayed as a positive. its an interview. your not supposed to tell them you have weaknesses. I'm an undergraduate student in engineering, my response to that question would be "i tend to over complicate situations. I sometimes lose track of the overall project by thinking about every possible consequence of our current project." This is what engineers are supposed to do. think of everything so nothing goes wrong. Since you are a business management major say you are a control freak. you have to know whats going on at all times and have to know everything thats going on. something along those lines and you should be fine. For the most part the important thing in answering that question is what you say after you tell them your weakness.

For example:

If you choose - "I am an overachiever..."

You want to follow it up w/ something positive like

'but i've realized that I can use that to gain support w/ my staff and motivate them to accomplish more. It's turned out pretty well but it's something I still stay aware of.'

if you choose the other one and say

'I like to take on extra projects to stay busy'

you can follow it right up with

'it's kind of forced me to acquire efficient time management skills'
