How do you address employer when applying for a job?

In a cover letter, when you know the employer's full name and she is female, would you use Dear First name Second name, or Dear Ms Second name? Dear Ms First name Secondname?

It depends how formal you want to be...

1) Most formal...

Dear Ms. Jane Doe:

2) Less Formal but appropriate...

Dear Ms. Doe:

Remember the colon after the last name.

I'd still use Dear Sir/Madam

You would use "Dear Ms. Last Name:" You would use her full name in the inside address.

I would use Dear Ms T Bone

i.e. Dear Ms first name letter, then full last name. Don't worry about it too much though, as long as the cover letter is well worded with NO spelling mistakes, you'll be fine. Good luck
