How do I give two weeks notice if I don't ever see my boss or work at her branch? Please help!!!?

I work as a floating teacher so I move between several daycare centers based on which one needs extra help that day. My boss is based at a daycare that almost never needs help, so I only see her like once a month at the most.

I just got a new job and will start in 2 weeks, so I need to give notice tomorrow. What should I do?

Some ideas:

1) Email her and arrange an appointment to tell her in person (problems though: that means I have to work from 2 weeks after the appointment, and she could just ask over email what it's about and then I'd have to tell her)

2) Call her tomorrow during lunch break and let her know

3) Email her tonight and let her know (I don't prefer this tho I think she should be told in person)

I have only worked here 2 months, I hardly know the woman so I am not sure what would be best. Please help!

I would call her directly and let her know. Also, follow up the conversation with an email thanking her for the opportunity of working for her and confirming your two weeks notice. Arranging an appointment will not work for you, due to time constraints. Your new job is the priority now.

To leave the best possible impression (you may need her as a reference at some point), it's best to tell her face to face; if that's not feasible then tell her by phone. It's OK to send an email or leave a message asking her to call you, but it's not OK to actually give your notice in an email or a message unless you really can't avoid it.

Some things to consider:

Notice should always be given in writing, preferably not by email, courier it to her office if you have to.

If you have only been there 2 months you might still be on 'probation', meaning that you might not have to do the full 2 weeks.

If the above really are your only options, then call her and give her notice over the phone and follow up with written notice via email.

It depends on how 'professional' they are but normally in your contract it states notice should be given in writing to make it offical, however you might want to give her a quick call first and then say you'll email her with offical notification after the phone call
