How do I approach my first job?

Alright im almost 15 1/2 and I want to start putting applications places to work so I can start working before school ends and then in the summer. If I want to work at wendy's...i figured, walk in, nice dress pants, shirt, tie...and the fill out an application and then leave - wise or should I do more? Ok and my second place I would like to work is my local Ford dealer. Its family owned so ford doesnt make the hiring decision, do I walk in and just ask if could fill out an application or what?

There are lots of potential hurdles for youngsters in work, many of them legal, parents and guardians are required to be careful about that. There is lots of help from the resource in the box below on this subject, they also have help for all people who are hunting for work, or who are required to change careers. |
