I'm working as a phone survey researcher. I hate it. I do the same thing every day for 6-8 hours. Then i get reprimanded for my production not being up to par. Well... I do my best. I can't put a gun to your head and force you to complete a political survey! (by the way, we're not telemarketers and we don't ask for money so do not call doesn't apply to us. However, if you want off our list just politely say put me on your do not call list.) Sometimes I do great and get well over 100% production. other days I get 60 or 70%. on Thursday I got 110%! But seriously, I have no socialization. I say "hello sir/ma'am. I'm calling on behalf of <insert company> for <insert reason> may I ask you a few questions?" How can I quit that job? I've been there for only 3 weeks today! I hate myself when I go there and LITERALLY count the minutes until I'm done. how do you quit after 3 weeks?

You politely tell them that although you appreciate the opportunity you feel that this line of work isn't for you. Some people have things they are great at or love to do and other things they are not strong at. If you took a job in sales and then found that you didn't like sales and it made you miserable you could just say sales wasn't for you.

I would just say, Thank you for the opportunity. I appreciate it very much. However after giving this type of industry a try I realized that its not the type of career I am looking for.

You can either just not show up or give them a notice if it's an at-will agreement. No contract right?

You turn in your 2-week letter of resigning. sorry to hear about that, you should have a job that makes you happy..when you go to work you should be happy about it and look forward to go to work. write a letter of resignation at least 2 weeks prior.

Tell the guy that you want to QUIT. There is no PROBLEM.

It doesn't matter what job you have. They usually say "ok, u have 3 months to find a new job".

Honesty is usually the best policy. It's never good to burn a bridge. Meet with your supervisor, politely explain that you are not a good fit for their team and give proper notice.

These type of positions as a phone survey are not contracted positions stated, they are nothing more than "sales" positions. I can understand you are not happy there, so send your resignation and hope that you have another job in the meanwhile.
