How can I get a job with no experience?

I'm 19 years old and have never had a job before. I have no experiences and no references because I was home-schooled.
I'm willing to work almost anywhere at places like Target, restaurants, Walgreens, Dominick's, etc. but NOT Dollar Stores, Mcdonald's, KFC, etc.
I want to make money to be able to buy things I need and pay for school.
How can I do this without experience or references?
Also, what should I list as my skills & how should I answer their questions?
Should I apply online or in person, which is more likely to be viewed?

Just apply everywhere. it is now summer and everyone will be hiring for seasonal especially retail. i had no experience and jcpenney hired me after 3 questions. for references just kind of fib and put down anyone you know and say that you have baby sat for them or something. dont say family. also say that your skills are that you are punctual, responsible, dedicated, FAST LEARNER, you can work in a team and by yourself. and you love helping people. say how excellent customer service is important. and that you are a people person. they like that. apply in person at the places you can and online at the places you can. one thing they love is when you keep calling them to check on your app because it shows you are dedicted. |
