Hotel job or Dental Hygienist?

I'm just wondering if people in these fields could let me know what they like/dont like about their job

and what you think would be better!

any tips/thoughts/suggestions/opinions!

Hotel job is great fun, for when your young, and great chances to travel & meet people...but after a while it becomes a 'no-go' career. Working in hotels/pubs/bars doesn't pay that well (in the long run) and it's hard work and you don't get paid any more for your experience as time goes on.

Dental Hygienist would be a great career. You would work normal 9 to 5 hours, get looked after with your teeth & would set you up for life! The down side would be not alot of work out there and if you get a job you would be entitled to stay in the one place for a long time due to no demand.

I work in a field of construction (in doors on a computer) and will always get a job in construction. Construction pays really well and there is always heaps of jobs & work available. If you single your self into one career it will be harder to change or move later on in life. So pick something where your choices are endless. Government work is another great choice!

Anyway, thats my theory, hope this helps :)

It really depends on where you live. I live in Vegas and here working in a hotel is good, you can also transfer to other areas within that company. I've also thought of the Dental Hygienist but I'm not sure thats interesting enough for me. See what classes you take for the D.H. that may also be able to transfer over into another career thats in a similar field. And Event Coordinator sounds like fun, I know for sure that it is a TON of work but good pay. The person that I know that does that has steady work here then when a big event comes up hes swamped!

Good luck.. I think the best thing is just to try your best to think what you just may like then try it. Only after that will you know. It sucks but thats just how it is. I'm in the same boat at 27. Go for it!
