Help quitting a new job?

I recently got a fast food job. So far I have worked 3 shifts (today is going to be my 4th) and I am miserable at work. They aren't really training me and it has been sort of awkward. I had to learn the hard way that fast food may not be the job for me. It is my first job and my mom wants me to have a job to help pay for part of my car insurance among other things of that nature. I really would like a different job and I feel trapped at this one. Any advice how I can find a new job and move forward so my summer (and foreseeable future) isn't horrible and miserable.
I would also appreciate some help justifying leaving my fast food job to my mom and family and everyone else. Thanks

Apply for other jobs, and when you get one, quit this one. |

You are giving up way too quick! Go talk to your boss and tell them that you are not finding that you are getting enough training and let them know you are enthusiastic and want to do the best job possible, but you are unsure on a lot of what to do and can they please arrange some proper training for you. What you do in life will depend on yoru attitude...you choose that. Don't get yourself in the habbit of quiting things, especially without giving it a fair shot and you haven't done that. |
