Have an interview at macy's and need help?

I got an interview at Macy's tomorrow and my friend who had worked there told me that at the end of an interview, the manager will test my skills with selling clothes. So I need help. Can anyone with help me how to engage with customers? The manager will pretend to be a customer, looking at clothes and I have to pretend that I'm a worker trying to help the customer. Tell me how to engage with the customers and things that I should say and avoid. Thanks

Ugh man whenever I'm in Macys I always hear

"Are you finding everything ok? Is there anything I can help you with today?"

Walk around Macys a little early to observe the atmosphere going on

It helps, believe me.

My brother used to work there, and even though hes dead now -

He was VERY bubbly always engaged conversation with the customers

he went the extra mile

So in order for you to RP that situation, think about your shopping experiences

You don't have to be super formal when it comes to customers- it makes you sound like you're trained to say exactly that.

I have never encountered a sales person who acts/speaks exactly the same

So be different, but interest the customer.

Make eye contact - if you have to act out a problem, mention the words "we"

Avoid long silences!!!

Mention something you like about the clothes, and try to find something that would compliment them

Maybe there will be a sale going on?

Tell them HOW good of a sale it is - what they'll be getting out of it
