Good reason for resigning from previous job on future applications?
Hi all,
I'm currently unemployed seeking employment, I'm 19.
I was previously employed at a major pub/restaurant in my city centre, yet I was increasingly marginalised, bullied and outcasted there which made the working environment completely intolerable. I worked there for 4 months, but was considering leaving after just 2 months. I decided to stick it out, but it was only getting worse.
I resigned into unemployment and I'm now looking for a new job.
With regard to previous employer, I thought I would put as "reason for leaving", a common field in every job application form down as "Left to persue personal goals", a positive and vague citation as opposed to citing the bullying I experienced.
Good idea?

Job applications are always hard - how should you complete them? Should you follow them up when there is no reply? I suggest there's no definitive answer but the website in the box below has some great guidance about this. It certainly helped me when I was writing job applications recently, in addition they have extra info on job seeking. |

Well, make sure you have those personal goals and a thorough explanation of them if you age tan interview - it is obviously vague and will arouse suspicion in all but the dumbest of interviewers. (There ARE plenty of dumb interviewers). |
