Give two weeks notice or not?

About 4 weeks ago I found a job listing for my company that looked strangely like my job. I decided to immediately find a new place of work just in case they were contemplating on replacing me. I don't know why they would since I perform my job well. They might have just been looking to expand the department, but I didn't want to risk it. I managed to land an interview with a new place later that day and two weeks later I interviewed and was offered the job. The new company is paying me about $10k more than my current employer. My current employer has a policy that says they do not give references. my start date is in a few days more than two weeks. Since I still don't know if they were contemplating replacing me or not, if you were in my shoes, would you give notice or not for fear they just might let me go that day and I would lose two weeks of pay?
