For part-time work, do they really look at your references (retail)?

Like say you want to work at McDonalds or a GAP, the people who are hiring, do they really contact your references?

I worked at Mickey D's when I was 16, and they did not check my references. However, every other retail place I've worked at part-time did call my references...all of them. But as long as you know the references you choose will speak highly of you, you should be fine. :)

Good luck!

It depends. each place is different. some do. some don't. also pending on what kind of job you are applying for has allot to do with this also. If you were say going to work in a bank. finance Company etc.... most likely YES your references would be checked. as for mc Donald's. again it depends on the store. job references most likely will be checked. personal. may not. good luck. hope this helps.
