Fashion design training job?

I am self taught dressmaker, designer but would like to take an advantage to work in a professional team to learn more. I am 30 year old, male and started one year ago, now realized (I know it is very late) that is what I love to do beside my previous experience and education. My question is how can I develop that interests when all apprenticeships are for much more younger than me? I have little chance to start university - financial matters. I like working on my own, but I dream to work withing a busy team. I would be very grateful for any suggestion, specific as possible - I live in Wales UK.
