Do i need a social security card for my job?

I got a job but i'm still training, and they asked for a copy of my social security card. i have my permanent resident card and passport (its not a US passport) and my social security number, but not the card itself.
do i need it?

Is this for the I-9 Form? If so, you can provide your Permanent Resident Card, OR your foreign passport, OR other documents, as proof of your work eligibility. You can see the complete list on page 5 of the link. They can't tell you which one to provide. |
