Do I Choose a Well-Paid Career, or a Career that I Will Enjoy through life?

I require some advice from you in regards to my career choices in the future.

I am a 15yr old straight 'A' high school student that is very hard-working and I am told I have excellent attention to detail. I am encouraged by friends/teachers to become a lawyer or head towards an occupation with a well-paid future. The only issue I have is that I have no interest at all in becoming a lawyer, doctor, scientist etc.

I have a strong interest in Sound Engineering and Event Management which is what I would like as an ideal job.

My question is, do I choose to do what will provide me with a wealthier future and early retirement, or do I choose an employment path that may not be as successful, but will be one that I should enjoy. Please help.

Thanks for your time and advice

Pick the one you will enjoy. If you are what you say you are- (you know.. a "straight-shooter") then you will do very well.

Walking into a job you hate every day is like continually raping your soul. I mean maybe one day you will 'learn to love it' but probably not because all that corporate crap/office politics will get in the way.

follow your dreams- just be above and beyond! (wow I sound corny) if you're good at what you do then you can end up making a ton of money AND you will find happiness.

oh and btw not just 'anyone' can do sound engineering and event management. Sure, law seems like a sure way to be rich- but there is a demand for skilled jobs like that. If you're passionate about it that it will work out for you.

but then- you are still young- take your time to figure it out- in the meantime continue getting straight-A's... just remember that everyone has their own agenda- even your closes friends and family. Yes- they love you and want you to do well and be happy- but in the end you are in control of your future- you cant get to the end and say "I didn't want to take this path! everyone told me to"..

Well i don't like saying dint follow your heart but in this case a lawyer is way better than engineering but if you truly believe its the way to go then follow your heart because its your life and no one can tell you what to do and if your friends and family don't encourage you then well their not being real friends and not being like true loving parents should be like.
