I looked through craigslist and i found a job as a live in maid

i have been emailing the poster and they seem ok

im just kind of skeptical

has anyone worked as a live in maid before

he's gonna let me choose my pay and provide me with a 2 bedroom suite

how much pay should i ask for

and what questions should i ask in the interview

"He's going to let me choose my pay" -- really? This didn't set off ANY warning flags in your head? You really think that someone's going to do business this way?

Too many ads on craigslist are blind advertisements which you do not know who the person or persons are posting. My suggestion that you find a agency that deals with domestic household work.

When someone promises you all kinds of things before they even meet you or seen your resume and checked your references, that is not legitimate. If he asks for an employment fee that is not legitimate either. I don't know what the person is after but it is not a legitimate job. Ask them for their address and phone number. Ask him for the name of anyone who worked for him before.

I work as a maid. Two things wrong with this add.

He is going too let you decide your pay? I don't think so!!!!

Also, 2 bedroom suite? For you? The maid!!!!! Usually a very small single bedroom is more likely.

It sounds fishy to me. Make sure you have the interview in a public place, a cafe or somewhere like that. Also if you do start get someone to "help" you move in so as that he knows another person knows about him.

Your pay rate is dependent on where you live and the hours you do.
