Company revealed the interview attendees name to their employer?

I attended an interview for a renowned multinational company. The interviewer disclosed my name to other candidates (from my own company) who attended for the same vacancy. Slowly, every one in my company got to know that I attended the interview. It is very much embarrassing for me. Is it ethical for a interviewer to tell the name to other knowing very well that he too works in my company. Is there anyway this can be legally challenged?

It's not illegal to do that, but it is a really stupid move by the interviewer. If an interviewer who worked in my company did something like that, I promise you they would be looking for a job themselves.

This kind of thing makes it very hard for a company to find good employees: if people think they have a lot to lose by interviewing there, they will not do so. A big and well known company relies on its good name to attract customers and employees.

You need to post the name of the company, so everybody else will know to avoid them.
