Chances of becoming an actress or producer in Hollywood?

Category: Other

I am a high school Sophomore and I either want to become a producer, actress a lawyer. I am goingto start taking acting lessons next year as my elective . I have an uncle who is a producer and he is unemployed. I told my parents I want to be a producer and they said "NO WAY!". I am taking acting classes next year for my electives and there are tons of opportunities for me to act if I am interested in it. I am going to college after high school, probably Notre Dame or U of Michigan and maybe majoring in Business and minoring in film . I am planning on going to law school after college. If I decide to go with the lawyer career, I want to be a Senator. Or I was considering becoming a producer and then governor (like Ronald Reagan was an actor and then he became President.) What are my chances of becoming a producer in Hollywood? Can I have some advice? I have no idea what I want to do!

The chances of having a successful Hollywood career are about 1 in 100,000 and that's being generous.

Many people, who today, have successful careers in Hollywood began acting/stage work at a very young age. Trying to get into the business in your mid-twenties in beyond difficult and that's only compounded by the extremely high demand of other mid-twenty year olds trying to also get into the business.

Stick with becoming a lawyer. I'm about to begin law school and I love it. I know that I'll be doing something that I love and I'll be able to have a good career.
