It is for a hotel job. This is my 4th interview. This with the assistant director. It is all brand new. Does that make me look like I'm trying to hard or what?

I would do a light tan shirt and a tie that picks contrasts well.

Black shirt is too intense.

Dress for the position you want. Have you ever heard that saying?

Be sure you are clean, well groomed and the clothes are clean and pressed. I think it sounds fine.

(You can never try too hard.)

That combination of colors sounds depressing and not appealing at all. I would stick with something more traditional.
