Can I have some career advice please?

Which career should I choose?

I know I asked this, I just wanted more opinions:

I am a high school Sophomore and I either want to become a producer, actress a lawyer. I wanted to be a lawyer for years but then I started to think about it and I don't know how good I am at arguing. People say I love to argue, but I don't think I can make a good arguement. I am going to start taking acting lessons next year as my elective. I've been obsessed with celebrities so I looked into becoming a producer and it sounded interesting. I have an uncle who is a producer and he is unemployed. But, then my neighbor is a lawyer and he is unemployed also.I told my parents I want to be a producer and they said "NO WAY!". My dad said "if you major in producing, find a way to pay for your own college", but he said this in front of his friends so I don't know if he was joking or not. After he said this, my mom said "just minor in film." I am taking acting classes next year for my electives and there are tons of opportunities for me to act if I am interested in it. I am going to college after high school, probably Notre Dame or U of Michigan and maybe majoring in Business and minoring in film . I am planning on going to law school after college. If I decide to go with the lawyer career, I want to be a Senator. Or I was considering becoming a producer and then governor (like Ronald Reagan was an actor and then he became President.) There are stars like Peter Facinelli and Ashley Greene who didn't start acting until college and Cameron Diaz who auditioned for a part and got it with no acting experience and Harrison Ford started acting, wasn't making a lot of money acting, so he took of carpentry and then was hired to build George Lucas's cabinets, and then Lucas hired him for Star Wars. I also took a career test and it said either a producer or lawyer! (That was no help at all!) What are my chances of becoming a producer in Hollywood? Can I have some advice? I have no idea what I want to do!

Before this job slump I would have said accounting / business administration and then perhaps law school. Find out what is required as pre-law for your college. A lawyer can always be self employed and if you specialize in contract law you may work your way into the film industry that way.

I am not sure what a producer does now, in my college days they came up with the money to finance a film or stage production. You were either wealthy or good at attracting investors.

By all means minor in acting, join amature stage groups and enjoy yourself. Many actors these days find it hard to get regular work, but they can get paid huge money when they do work for major roles. Roles like "woman at phone" or "secretary typing" are easier to get but may not be regular work because of the number of people after them.
