Being taken advantage of at work?
I have worked every weekend for a year, also work 16 hour shifts. My boss's make me do all the laundry for the hotel even when we're busy, (wash, dry, fold). My owner is a cheapskate and would rather me do laundry than hire someone for everyday. I work with 4 other people who are all really close, I am like the outsider because I am the youngest. So everything they tell me to do is double standards, like they don't want me to sit around so they make me do all the laundry, but nobody else will do it. Or I get in trouble if I don't do cash-out but none of them will do it. I get in trouble for everything when the other's do the same things and don't get in trouble. The manager and her daughter are 2 of the 4 people, so that is probably why. Does this sound like I'm getting taken advantage of?

Yeah it's obvious that they are taking advantage of you. The have what is call the good ole boys club going on. If you can find a better job then you should quit and just laugh knowing that they might not be able to find someone who will put up with as much crap as you have. Every place has a person who does a lot of the crappy jobs but you seem like a decent person they should have let up on you by now. Good Luck |

Yes you are being taken advantage of. Time to find a new job. After a year, you shouldn't feel like an outsider and work should never make you this miserable. |

Business and family don't mix - when they do, it's trouble for anyone else. Start looking for a new job immediately. Don't quit until you have another job. |
