Are my grades going to affect my medical career?

For example, I seemed to end up getting a B in the hardest class I've ever taken (Chemistry) at my University. Will this affect my journey to becoming a family doctor much? Is it different since I am sixteen years old in the Early College Program?

Medical schools look at two main things in terms of grades. Your average gpa for all courses you take and your average gpa for all classes you take from biology, physics, math, and chemistry departments. Within both of those categories, you will take at least 10 courses, so one B won't bring your gpa down that much provided that you do well in other required classes, so I wouldn't worry. As long as your gpa is close to a 3.5 overall, which is between a B+ and A-, you should be safe. |
