Are Elecric Shocks Often If Your An Electrician?
Im gonna do an electrican course in college and hopefully become an self-employed electrician. Do you get electric shocks often? I mean i'm not scared of them really but my friend is trying to scare me abit saying it's dangerous. But according to my dad they teach you how to avoid one so your least likely to have one?

Since most electricians sustain serious injury from falling, like every other construction trade, I would say it is not particularly more dangerous than plumber or carpenter, perhaps less. But it is less safe than being a cop for example. Knowing when it's time to shut stuff off must be balanced with minimizing customer interruption. I have been shocked many times, but never have I been hurt. |

You never get shocks if you do it properly (and follow the law). |

No. Because the first thing they teach you is to cut the power off at the circuit breaker..Have you ever seen an auto mechanic working on an engine while its running? Same thing here! Electicians do thier work with the power off. (My brother is an electrician apprentice - in one of those trade schools). I was really surprised at just how creative you have to be in order to be an electrician, its way more problem solving than I can handle..so good luck!!!) |
