Applying two jobs in same company should I do both or just one?

There is an opening for Research Analyst and Business Analyst in the same company. I prefer Research Analyst position since the requirements need computer programming and experience. Business Analyst is more entry level, even with someone who doesn't know computer programming and have high school education and 0 to 2 years of experience. Business Analyst I have better chance but the Research Analyst seems to fit my computer science background but is the experience I don't have a lot. Should I apply to both or just one (Business Analyst)?

Both. Make it clear you prefer the Research Analyst position and really sell your computer science background to them. You may need to explain why you'd be willing to "settle" for the lesser job if you prefer the first one, though. Explain how you feel that you fit the company and job title of analyst generally and explain that you see the business analyst position as one which would allow you to grow toward more complex positions. |
