Am i eligable for incapacity benefit?

I have had severe depression for 2years and was in a motorbike accident and broke my leg. because of these problems i am unable to work. i work on building sites anymore as my leg cant take the strain and because of my depression i cant work. am i eligable for incapacity benefit

It's hard to tell from the info given whether you would be or not. The only way to know for sure is to apply for such benefits. How long ago did the broken leg happen? Broken limbs heal - they are not a permanent disability. As for the mental stuff, well, you are going to need some doctors' statements saying that you have tried many medications and none of them appear to be working. If you are self-diagnosing yourself with the mental conditions, that's not worth anything as far as an incapacity determination person will count. You need PROOF - from a doctor(s) - that he/she feels that you are incapacitated, either temporarily or permanently. |
