Am I basically fired?

I came in late, cause my metro bus screwed me over.

My general manager told me that if it's best if we part ways. I only work days and not enough nights, and she need people to work those nights. She also said I myself have said I don't make too much money.

She said she'll still give me recommendation for any job I try to apply for. I'm cool with all the managers, and she told me that if I get an car, that maybe someday I can come back in and be eligible for re-hire. But after she said that I asked if I was fired, and she said basically yes, but she didn't want to leave on bad terms.

If you didn't leave the job of your own choosing, then you were fired.

It's great she is willing to be a reference and understands your commute issues - but you were fired.

What part of the discussion did you not understand? Yes, you are fired.

She already told you, yes, you're basically fired. What part of this did you not understand?
