Iv just finished my NVQ 2 in hairdressing, and i got lucky because instead of working in a crappy little hairdressers and working my way up like most people have to, straight away i got an interview in a top london hairsalon as a stylist. my interviews on wednesday. and i have to do a cut and colour on a client the manager is providing. im so nervous because i really, really want this job, could anyone give me any tips or questions i could as or anything really, that would give me a better chance of getting the job.

One of the most important times during the interview is during the 10 minutes while waiting for the interviewer and meeting them for the first time. These 10 minutes are important because you will be making your first impression to them and potentially setting the mood of the interview. You can do a few simple things to control this 10 minute window and set the scene for everything else that follows.

1. Eye Contact

2. Smile

3. Handshake

If you do the little things and start strong, then be confident in your training while doing the color and cut. Don't worry about messing up, you are new so they expect you to mess up.
