A career for someone who has no interest in anything...?

I was passionate about music at first. Until I was 15 and I realised I was no good at it than the average joe.

Then I was passionate about art. Until I got a C for my exam and I saw how much better everyone else was.

As for subject like maths, computing, english etc they held no interest for me, although I was good at them.

It feels like the things i really used to enjoy, well my happiness deflated when I realised I could never be 'one of the best' and now music and art don't hold much interest for me, although I miss them sometimes and the thought of losing my skills that i had gained scares me.

I'm 18 now and in a course for computer science, which although i can do if i try hard, it holds little interest for me.

What can i do? I have considered almost every career, or at least it feels like that.

You have interest in the arts, don't say you have no interest. I am 25, i am learning some software programming, which is not what i want to major in, i know what i love and what i want to do, i have done a little towards it, i have never been considered as the best but i beleive in the dream that God has deposited in my heart and i refuse to despair. I say to God everyday, Lord thank you for it is not over.

Now, my friend don't think of yourself as average what made most artiste great is persitence, they put extra into their ordinary(average) and became extra-ordinary. Don't give up on your dreams. Micheal Jackson rehearsed for 10 hours daily, his success was not automatic or through instinct.

If you want to finish your computer program finish it, i am not saying u should drop out. But get back to your dream and work at it until it works, i used to write rap verses, i gave them up b'cos i thought i wasn't getting anywhere and anytime i hear rap songs i feel moved to go back to it. I have not given up on my dreams, so my friend work at it till it happens and put God first. You have an interest in something and it will not be worth it slaving at what u don't love. God bless.

First, you must have an interest somewhere inside of you. What do you like to do MOST?

I remember I used to have a passion about a few careers but then it vanished after realizing it was more difficult than I thought.

I probably went through 2 subjects before I actually found what is right for me. Astronomy is what got me.

Even if you got a C on your exam doesn't mean you suck. That is actually a passing grade and that is all that matters. You don't need to be on top all the time or be better than everyone else just to know what is right for you. You may get a C on your final exam BUT if you were to go to the next level you may just get better at it. College courses are NOT easy. Sometimes it can be the teachers fault also, not you. I remember one time I had a horrible teacher who gave out the most hardest exams and almost no one passed. He even made no sense in his speeches. Everyone blamed him.

2nd, you mention that you miss your subjects at times...well you need to go back to them if you really do miss them. You have to put your heart into it if you are serious. Studying and practicing are a must. At my college, not a lot of people are serious in their subjects and prefer to party, get drunk, and fail the exam or just be plain lazy.
