16 year old trying to find a job?

I am currently 16 and looking for a long- term job. Is it ok to go in with my dad and ask for an application or does that some how give you a bad impression already? Who do I ask, the worker or ask for the manager and then ask for an application? Should I wear something presentable such as slacks and a nice blouse because I heard you may be given an interview on the spot if the manger is free. And when is the best time to go in, I mean, is it too late to go in at 7 pm or is it better to walk in during the afternoon, or just anytime before closing time?

This is going to be my first job and I've been job hunting for about 2 months now but I somehow feel I have doing the application wrong. All the places I've applied to preferred online applications and a week later I would call to ask for the status of my application butt the hiring manager was either not there or they haven't looked at it yet. I never received a call for an interview.

Yea most companies have online applications now

but if you do go in to find an application i would just dress casually, no need for your dad to tag along.

go during the afternoon because it wont be too busy but a good time.

you'll want to talk to human resources or customer service

oh in that case, it wont be that bad. i dont think they really care if you have your parents there when youre filling out your application.

i was 17 when i was job hunting, applied at sears, kmart, best buy, pretty much a bunch of retail stores

i got a call from best buy 2 weeks later, i didnt even do anything. its a good idea to call to check up on your application though! so i would do that. keep your hopes up brah, youll get a job
