16 year old career question?

Hi, I'm 16 years old and will be a junior in high school next year. I just saw the movie Iron Man 2 and was wondering what would be a good career field to go into that is like Tony Stark's job? (I know that the movie is fictional) What I mean is that I would really like to work with technology and also building things (Like mechanical things). What would be a good career field for me to pursue?

I have a little experience with technology (Like iPod Jailbreaking)

It all depends on what aspect of his inventions you find "coolest".

Exo-skeleton - robotics, aerodynamics, materials science, applied physics, mechanical engineering.

His AI side-dick - software, computer sciences, electrical engineering.

Weapons - all of the above.

Endless power supply - theoretical physics, particle physics, made up science.

To become an expert on any one of these fields you need about 20 years of study and research, and even then you might fail at it.

Your most realistic choice if you want to get involved with all the aspects of designing such things is get an MBA degree and try to become a department head that manages people who are experts in all those fields.

IPod jailbreaking doesn't constitute as technological experience =) not that it matters lol but you could look up technological careers online or go to a local college and see what information they have. I don't know what your high school provides but try going to the counsilor or a career adviser if they have one and talk to them, they can really help you out with that stuff and usually have great recources. good luck figuring out =)

There are lots of potential hurdles for minors in work, many of them legal, parents and guardians have to be vigilant about that. There is lots of help from the site in the box below on this topic, they also have help for all peeps who are searching for work, or who have to change careers.
