13% in lieu of benefits? what? HELP!!?

Hey so I just got an awesome student summer job that pays great but since it's a temporary full time position i wont get benefits (i don't have a problem with this since im in canada and my health care is covered anyways!) but it says "you are eligible for 13% in lieu of benefits" my question is 13% OF WHAT???? 13% of my bi-weekly cheque? Also it states I will receive 6% vacation pay... 6% OF WHAT?? Is the 13% and 6% going to be taken out of my cheque or will it be an addition of some sort. im confused.

Yes, 13% of your base pay. If you were paid $1 an hour it would be 13% of that, or $10 a week it would be 13% of that. However they pay & what the base is. |

Yes the 13% will be added onto your cheque.It should have this on your pay stub showing your hours, rate of pay and deductions.One line will be your in lieu of benefits amount. |
