Did I talk/do too much during my group interview?

FOR my group interview with Old Navy/Gap inc. It was with 8 other people 4 were from my school (I'm 16) and a few other people. It was really,awkwardly quiet the whole time during the interview,like no one was saying a word unless they were called upon and Even then,a lot of the people would give answers like "Um...well.I'm good with people" or even flat out "I don't know"as an answer.
I always tried to answer the questions that the manager gave me to the best of my ability and when no one was willing to answer a question,I did. A few times she was like "Really?So no questions or comments?" It was like super quiet the whole time and I felt like I was the only one willing to talk. i never cut anyone off or anything like that,but It felt like just me and the manager were talking and everyone else was awkwardly standing by, I also asked some questions to the manager and then s hook her hand at the end of the interview? Was this all too much? Did I come off as a brown noser/suck up?

I think it sounds like you did ok in the group interview, assuming the answers to your questions didnt make you look stupid. lol It sounds like you stood out of the group and it showed that you're not shy to talk to customers and answer their questions. Quite possibly made you look like the 'leader' of the group and that you like to take action while everyone else is sitting around doing nothing. Your additional questions at the end give the impression that you want to know more about the job, and hand-shaking is professional, so nothing wrong with that. |
