Workplace retaliation?
About a month ago, I filed a complaint through a report it hotline, but wasn't secretive about who I was. I chose that way to report it, because my manager had been made aware of the issues, and she chose to do absolutely nothing; she (outright admitted) she "doesn't want to deal with it." I wanted the report to go to someone hirer than her in our company, and our local HR lady is even worse. A lady I worked with was causing a lot of issues, and when I chose to not talk to her unless it was about business, she made a lie up to try and get me in trouble, which our boss admitted she had serious doubts about the validity to the accusation. Long story short; it was a very hostile work environment, and I began looking for employment elsewhere. I found another job, and put my 2 weeks notice in. My leaving was going to cause them to be very short staffed, so I told my manager that I would pull doubles on my days off, and she agreed to change my status to seasonal. My last day as a full time employee was the 11th, but my boss came to me on the 10th and said: "I think it would be best if we severed things now, and you let tomorrow be your last day. Corporate is getting involved in the issues that were reported, and I don't want to deal with that" I said, so you want me to leave, so XXXXX won't get in trouble for what she's done?! she said "I can't discuss issues regarding XXXXX with you..." So, she was letting me go, because of an issue that I filed. Isn't this a form of retaliation? Can I go after the company legally?
