What career should I pursue?

I am 18 years old and am wondering what career best fits me. I am looking for a job in the law enforcement/military world because I love to read about, shoot, customize, and tinker with firearms. I also love the idea of serving my country. I have been told that I posses many leadership qualities and I also have been told that I am of the "guardian class". I have also been an athlete my entire life and have always tried to outlast everyone in anything involving endurance, perseverance, or will power. In high school I loved running sports (Track,Cross Country, and Lacrosse) probably as a result of my urge to be the best. One of the most important quality to me is being moral and honorable. Not honorable in the cheesy wanna-be soldier sense, but I truly try to do the "right thing". I feel like I can do anything I set my mind to, but I am not a cocky egotistical self-centered person. Its a little uncomfortable to List all of my attributes because it seems very self-centered.
Any input would be great, especially from professionals in the Law-enforcement community, but anyone is welcome to give their input. Below are a list of careers that have been suggested to me.
Federal agent
Officer in the marines (college, OCS, Marines)
Detective
NCIS Agent
P.S. My family has a strong military background. My great grandfather received the Congressional medal of honor at pearl harbor, my moms father was a submarine commander, my dads dad was an admiral. I am very proud of them.
